Description:
This century old Neo-Classical landmark is the focal point of Belfast's Donegall Square. The interior features the marble Great Dome, a grand staircase, stained glass windows, decorative plaster, and a mural depicting the city's industrial industry. The landscaped grounds are filled with statuary including a large sculpture of Queen Victoria that stands in the front of the building. City Council offices also are housed here.

Description:
This well-preserved 12th century structure is one of Ireland's earliest and largest castles. Built following the Norman Invasion, it includes such defense details as arrow slits and a "murder hole" for pouring boiling tar on enemies below. Today the castle features life-size replicas of historical figures. Educational films document details of daily life including mealtime, clothing, and games.

Description:
This enormous circular earthwork, with its impressive six hundred foot diameter, is enclosed by a bank of gravel and stone. A megalithic chamber with a single capstone marks its center. Scientists and scholars date the chamber to between 3000 and 2000 BC and speculate that the earthwork may have been some type of gathering space. During the 18th century it was used a horse track.

This private library is also known as the Belfast Library and Society for Promoting Knowledge. Situated across from City Hall, it houses an extensive collection of Irish literature including the works of Robert Burns. The Political Collection consists of more than 80,000 publications dealing with Northern Ireland's political strife since 1966. The third floor features a vast genealogical area. Visitors are welcome.
